As part of efforts making Nigeria a free disease society, Dfortune solutions has kicked off it’s campaign against the spread of diseases arising from mosquitoes and other rodents in the society.

The gesture commenced with a conference for pest Control managers to assist Lagos state government and as well other state governments across the federation on how to curb the spread So as to avert the unforseen.

The epoch making event was well attended by captains of Industries home and abroad including the son of the President,Seyi Tinubu, President , Pest Control Association Of Nigeria (PECAN) PCO Kunle Williams, state government officials and other managers in the profession.

This year’s theme tittled : Advancing Public Health Through Sustainable Pest and Vector Management Practices” was held at Marriott Hotel Lagos

Speaking at the event, Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo Olu, represented by the Commissioner for Health, Prof Akin Abayomi, emphasized on the commitment of the state to support any idea and policies geared towards putting a total stop to malaria in the state.

Sanwo Olu said further that, the importance of collective efforts of all ,in combating the spread of malaria cannot be over emphasized.

He mentioned further that the state has just launched a digital malaria eradication program that includes real time tracking of cases and private sector partnership to improve health care access aiming at moving Lagos towards pre elimination by enhancing diagnostic accuracy, improving case management and linking patients to social health insurance schemes also the use of insecticide treated nets and seeking early medical attention to curb diseases like malaria requires joint efforts from all.

Meanwhile,the PENCAN President,Kunle Williams had earlier urged government at all levels to support the group on eradication of quacks operatives from the pest Control management.

Noella Foundation, since its launch in 2018 has been supporting the governments through donating emergency care reliefs, healthcare, clean water, food security, youth and empowerment.

The company received one of its kind award from the Dfortune Solutions for been a key player in ensuring community healthcare improved in Lagos.

The Governor, reiterated the state’s commitment to continue to support every initiative and policies geared towards eradicating malaria in the state.

Sanwo Olu emphasized the importance of collective action and digital tools in the fight against diseases arising from mosquitos, rodents and other insects causing negative effects on human livelihood.

He said Lagos State has recently launched a digital malaria eradication programme that includes real-time tracking of cases and private sector partnership to improve healthcare access, saying the initiative aims to move Lagos towards pre-elimination by enhancing diagnostic accuracy, improving case management, and linking patients to social health insurance schemes.

The state government stressed the need for communities’ involvement, in adopting preventive measures like using insecticide-treated nets and seeking early medical attention to curb diseases most especially Malaria, noting that eradicating malaria requires a unified effort from government agencies, healthcare providers, community leaders, and citizens.

Also speaking, National President, Pest Control Association of Nigeria (PECAN), PCO Kunle Williams, urged the government at all levels to support the group on the eradication of quack operatives of pest control management.

He stressed the need for all certified Pest Control Managers to register with PECAN which of course will enable the association to fish out quackery within the profession.

The keynote speakers in the programme includes: Dr Yakubu Baba; Prof Akin Abayomi; Representative of Nanjing Essence Fine Chemical Company in China, Charlotte Lee; Environmental Health Specialist, Imperial College in London, Prof Adetoun Mustapha; International Pest Business Consultant, Sydney, Australia, Dr Raja Mahendran and Kukbo Science Corporation, South Korea, Brian Jung.

While delivering his speech ,the Convener and Chairman Dfortune Pest Solutions PCO Ayodeji Oluleye said gathering together of global experts, researchers, and industry leaders to explore cutting-edge solutions, foster networking, and drive innovation in the field of pest management is a way of assisting government in eradicating deadly diseases arising from mosquitoes and rodents.

According to him, prevention is better than cure. “We must be working towards actual prevention of all parasites that are causing the diseases than to be treating it after outbreaks.

PCO Ayodeji appreciated the state government for their vision of making the mega city a better place to live.

He also commended Mr Seyi Tinubu’s unwavering support for Lagos Government in eradicating diseases that could become a burden to the residents through Noella Foundation which aimed to empower Communities and Protecting Public Health.
