FG Pushes Ahead with ₦100.8bn Enugu–Port Harcourt Expressway Project

The Federal Government has restated its determination to deliver the Section Three of the 61-kilometre Enugu–Port Harcourt Expressway on schedule, assuring that the project will boost economic growth, improve road safety, and enhance citizens’ welfare.
Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, gave the assurance during a visit to the construction site in Enugu State as part of a Citizens’ Engagement tour of the South East.
Describing the project as “a visible testament to government’s resolve to complete strategic highways nationwide,” Idris said modern road infrastructure remained a priority for the current administration.
The dual carriageway, being built by CGC Nigeria Limited at a cost of ₦100.8 billion, covers a total of 122 kilometres. According to the Director of Highways (Southeast), Engineer Tony Mbiko, the Enugu-bound lane has been completed, with work progressing steadily on the remaining section.
