By Exponent News, Akure – 24th August 2025
The Ondo State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant Oluyemi Joshua Ibiloye, has been honoured by Chronicle Magazine for his remarkable contributions to the security architecture of the state.
Speaking after receiving the award, Commandant Ibiloye expressed gratitude to God and to the organisers for the recognition, stressing that the honour was not for him alone but for all heads of security agencies in the state.
He noted that the success recorded so far in maintaining peace and order was due to the collective collaboration of security agencies, which has helped in tackling crime across the state.
“I dedicate this award to other heads of security agencies in Ondo State, because over the years we have worked closely together, and without them I would not have been able to achieve this feat,” he said.
Commandant Ibiloye further appealed to residents of the state to continue to support security agencies with credible intelligence, stressing that security personnel could not be everywhere at the same time.
“As security agencies we do our very best, but we are not spirits. We rely on the people of Ondo State to give us credible intelligence to work with. They have been doing this, but we urge them to do more,” he added.
The NSCDC boss assured that with sustained cooperation from residents, Ondo State will continue to enjoy peace and security.
