Aiyedatiwa Engages Hausa Leaders, Reaffirms Govt’s Commitment to Security and Unity

Admin. 5ft September, 2025

Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, on Friday restated his administration’s commitment to protecting the lives and property of all residents of the state, regardless of ethnic, cultural, or religious affiliations.

The Governor made the pledge in Akure when he received the Sarkin Hausa in Ondo State, along with representatives of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN).

Governor Aiyedatiwa commended the Hausa community for their contribution to the peace and stability enjoyed in the state. He urged them to continue promoting harmony, unity, and tolerance while avoiding acts that could damage their reputation.

While stressing that security is a collective responsibility, he assured that government will continue to prioritize measures that ensure safety for everyone across the state.

Also speaking at the meeting, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Jamiu Ekungba, said the engagement was designed to strengthen unity, promote religious tolerance, and enhance security cooperation among communities.

In his remarks, Secretary to the Sarkin Hausa in Ondo State, Mr. Abdulsalam Musa, who represented the community, called for the provision of more social amenities such as health facilities and requested formal recognition of Hausa traditional rulers in the state.

Dignitaries present included the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti; Commander of the Amotekun Corps, Mr. Adetunji Adeleye; the Sarkin Hausa of the 18 local government areas in Ondo State; and the Chief Imam of Akure, Alhaji Yayi Akorede, among others.
