Governor Aiyedatiwa’s Vision for Ondo’s Oil-Producing Areas Gets Boost from OSOPADEC Chairman, Who Praises NUJ’s Role

By Exponent News Akure,18th September, 2025.

Prince Olabiyi Olaleye Poroye, Executive Chairman of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC), has lauded the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ondo State Council, for their commitment to ethical journalism, while outlining Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s strategic plans to transform oil-producing communities through major infrastructural projects.

During a courtesy visit from NUJ executives to his office, Poroye emphasized the governor’s focus on large-scale land reclamation and the construction of concrete walkways as key initiatives designed to revitalize the region. He also highlighted ongoing efforts to upgrade healthcare facilities, complete critical road networks, enhance inter-community connectivity, and expand electricity supply within the mandate areas.

Poroye stressed the importance of vision and passion in achieving success and expressed gratitude to Governor Aiyedatiwa for entrusting him with the responsibility to serve at this pivotal time. “Every fresh start brings renewed strength and clarity of purpose,” he said, pledging to foster a close working relationship with the NUJ.

In response, NUJ Ondo State Chairman, Prince Leke Adegbite, praised Poroye’s leadership and the visible progress made under his watch. He reiterated the Union’s dedication to defending public interests and encouraged the OSOPADEC chairman to continue delivering on his mandate.

“Poroye is the right choice for this important role and has a huge responsibility not to disappoint the people. We congratulate him and look forward to continued excellence,” Adegbite stated.
