The Vice-Chancellor of Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Prof. Temiloluwa Emmanuel Ologunorisa, has revealed a plethora of innovative programmes, infrastructure developments, and staff benefits aimed at positioning the institution as a leading centre of excellence.

Addressing staff and students during the monthly prayer meeting on Wednesday, 5th February, 2025, Prof. Ologunorisa announced that new academic programmes will be introduced in 2025/2026 academic session, including Pharmacy, Nautical Science, Marine Economics and Finance, Ports and Shipping Management, and Maritime Transport and Logistics. These programmes are designed to equip students with cutting-edge skills and knowledge, enhancing their employability and contributions to the nation’s development.

On staff welfare, the VC assured that salaries are being paid promptly, and promotion arrears will be settled soon. He also pledged to implement the new minimum wage as soon as the university receives increased government subvention.

Highlighting the institution’s commitment to innovation, Prof. Ologunorisa revealed that OAUSTECH has begun issuing electronic transcripts (E-transcripts) to graduates. This move is expected to enhance the ease of verification and authentication of academic credentials.

The VC also announced that the university’s 3rd Convocation ceremony will take place on 4th March, featuring the graduation of the first set of Postgraduate students from the Postgraduate Diploma in STEM Education (PGDE) and Masters of Science programmes.

Expressing gratitude to staff for their support, Prof. Ologunorisa appreciated their cooperation and dedication during the past year. He also thanked them for their condolences and support during the recent passing of his father.

In a related development, Dr. Adesina, former Head of the Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture Technology, OAUSTECH, spoke at the university’s monthly prayer meeting held at the Main Auditorium. Dr. Adesina’s message centered on “The Depth of God’s Love,” emphasizing the importance of faith and spiritual growth in the lives of the university community.

On infrastructure development, the VC disclosed that construction work is underway on the School of ICT, School of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences, and School of Earth Science. These projects are expected to provide state-of-the-art facilities, enhancing the learning experience and research capabilities of students and faculty.

With these developments, OAUSTECH is poised to consolidate its position as a leading institution of science and technology in Nigeria, providing a conducive environment for academic excellence, innovation, and community service. To
