There is hope on the horizon—soft, steady, and persistent—like a silver lining that refuses to fade from the morning sky. Hope is not merely proclaimed; it is nurtured within us, a quiet conviction that Nigeria will flourish again in our lifetime.

As the nation continues to confront the storms unleashed by Boko Haram, bandits, kidnappers, and other dark forces, Nigeria has refused to bow to fear. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is bracing up, and governors across the federation are taking a cue.

Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has once again acted promptly by making the security of lives and property a top priority.

And on Monday, 1st December 2025, that promise took shape once again.

The commissioning of the new Amotekun Control Centre and the Training Auditorium at the Ondo State Security Network Agency (Amotekun Corps) headquarters in Alagbaka, Akure, demonstrated that the state will not surrender its peace to the shadows.

The Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Lawal; the NSCDC Commandant, Oluyemi Ibiloye; the DSS Director, Samaila Sagiru; and other service chiefs spoke with one voice—each affirming Governor Aiyedatiwa’s unwavering commitment to the safety of the people he serves.

The governor extolled the leadership of Commander Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, describing him as a man whose courage, clarity, and consistency have shaped the soul and success of Amotekun.

When Commander Adeleye mounted the stage, he journeyed through memory, recounting the Corps’ evolution from 2020 to this defining moment. He emphasized that when security is rooted in local realities and backed by political will, chaos can indeed be transformed into calm.

He honoured the late Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, SAN, CON—the architect of the South-West’s security renaissance—before naming Governor Aiyedatiwa “The Father of Modern-Day Amotekun.”

Governor Aiyedatiwa, in his reflections, spoke of the changing face of security—the increasing need for technology, discipline, and knowledge. The new training auditorium, he noted, will not only build strength but also sharpen minds.

With tenderness and resolve, he paid tribute to the Pathfinder, the late Akeredolu, whose boldness lit the torch that Amotekun continues to carry.

Against mischievous insinuations that the welfare of Amotekun personnel is neglected, the Commander clarified that the harmonized salary structure places Ondo State among the highest-paying in the South-West.

Then came the moment that echoed like a drumbeat across the hall—the Governor’s unequivocal pledge to his Commander.

His words were simple, powerful, and unambiguous:

“The Commander, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, goes nowhere!”

It is clear that Ondo Amotekun is set to add more salt to the soup in fighting insecurity headlong.
