Newly Elevated Permanent Secretaries Pledge Loyalty, Commend Aiyedatiwa for Historic Appointments
7th March ,2026
The 32 newly elevated Administrative and Permanent Secretaries in Ondo State have expressed deep appreciation to Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for the confidence reposed in them, describing their appointments as both an honour and a call to greater responsibility.
Speaking on behalf of the appointees during the swearing-in ceremony, Pastor Rotimi Aworere thanked the governor for approving the elevations, which also included the appointments of the Statistician-General and the Auditor-General for Local Government.
Aworere noted that the appointments would not have been possible without the governor’s gracious consideration, commending Aiyedatiwa for what he described as an unprecedented move in the history of the Ondo State civil service.
According to him, the governor’s decision demonstrated uncommon leadership and commitment to the welfare and career progression of public servants in the state.
He assured the governor that the newly elevated officers would justify the confidence reposed in them by upholding professionalism, integrity, diligence and loyalty in the discharge of their duties.
Aworere said the office of a Permanent Secretary represents the peak of a professional career in the civil service and comes with enormous responsibilities, which the appointees are prepared to shoulder with dedication.
He also acknowledged the contributions of senior civil servants, including serving and retired Permanent Secretaries and former Heads of Service, who mentored and guided them throughout their careers.
The new Permanent Secretaries equally appreciated the Head of Service, the Civil Service Commission and other stakeholders involved in the process leading to their elevation.
Aworere further thanked colleagues in the civil service, including directors, deputy directors, assistant directors and other workers, for their cooperation and support over the years.
He extended gratitude to families, friends and well-wishers whose prayers and encouragement sustained them throughout their journey in the public service.
Reaffirming their commitment, Aworere said the appointments represented a renewed call to service, promising that the new Permanent Secretaries would remain guided by integrity, ethical discipline and dedication to the progress and development of Ondo State.
