A 28-year-old man has been arrested by the Ondo State Police Command for the alleged murder of his three siblings in a shocking incident that has thrown the Okitipupa community into mourning.
The tragic घटना occurred on April 7, 2026, at New Site, Doctors Road, Okitipupa, where the suspect, identified as Femi Agbeye, reportedly attacked his younger siblings with a machete in the absence of their father.
According to the police, the father of the suspect, Mr. Agbeye, reported the incident at a nearby police station upon discovering the gruesome act. The victims were identified as Bose Agbeye (20), Dupe Agbeye (7), and Blessing Agbeye (5).
Police operatives swiftly responded to the distress call and mobilised to the scene, where the three victims were found lifeless. Their bodies were subsequently evacuated to the State Specialist Hospital Morgue in Okitipupa for preservation and autopsy.
The Command confirmed that the suspect was apprehended on the same day in a coordinated operation and is currently in custody. He is expected to be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
Condemning the incident, the Commissioner of Police in Ondo State described the act as heinous and assured the public that justice would be diligently pursued.
The police also appealed to residents to remain calm and support ongoing investigations by providing useful information, reiterating their commitment to safeguarding lives and property while warning against all forms of violence in society.
