Newly Promoted Officers Charged to Uphold Discipline, Loyalty in Akure

Four senior officers of the Nigerian Army have been charged to uphold discipline, loyalty, and exemplary leadership following their promotion to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
The charge was given by the Commander, 32 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier General Justin Ifeanyi, during a decoration ceremony held at the Owena Cantonment Officers’ Mess in Akure, where the officers were formally adorned with their new ranks.
Brigadier General Ifeanyi described the occasion as a significant milestone for both the officers and the brigade, noting that the promotions reflected years of hard work, resilience, and dedication to duty. He emphasized that the new rank comes with greater responsibilities and expectations, urging the officers to remain committed to the core values of the Nigerian Army.
“This promotion is not only a reward for past efforts but also a call to greater service,” he said, while encouraging the officers to lead by example in all their assignments.
The Brigade Commander also acknowledged the vital role of spouses in the success of military personnel, appreciating their support and urging them to continue providing encouragement and understanding to their partners.
The newly decorated officers are Lieutenant Colonels A. Ornan, B.G. Oyinloye, I.N. Badamasi, and E. Agboola.
Speaking on behalf of the promoted officers, Lieutenant Colonel Awete Ornan expressed gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, and the leadership of the Nigerian Army for the confidence reposed in them. He reaffirmed their commitment to serving the nation with integrity and dedication.
The ceremony was attended by senior officers, colleagues, family members, and well-wishers.
