FEDPOLEL Moves to Digital Staff Assessment with E-Appraisal Rollout for 2026

The Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji (FEDPOLEL) has commenced preparations to digitise its staff performance evaluation process with the introduction of an electronic appraisal system for the 2026 Annual Staff Review Exercise.
The institution disclosed this during a one-day sensitisation programme held on June 23, 2026, at its 1,500-capacity Multipurpose Auditorium, where academic, senior non-teaching and junior staff members were introduced to the new platform.
Speaking at the event, the Registrar, Mr. Gabriel Adeyemi Awe, said the management approved the deployment of the e-appraisal system as part of efforts to modernise administrative processes and improve efficiency in staff assessment.
Awe explained that the paperless platform would safeguard appraisal records, cut administrative costs, reduce the duration of the appraisal cycle and ensure secure long-term storage of personnel data.
He urged workers to embrace the innovation, stressing that the commitment and cooperation of all stakeholders would determine the success and sustainability of the initiative.
Representing the Rector, Dr. Ademola Iyanda Ebeloku, the Deputy Rector, Dr. Samson Adehugha Omogbehin, described the introduction of the system as a major step towards strengthening transparency and accountability in the institution’s performance management process.
According to him, the online platform would enable staff and supervisors to complete appraisal activities electronically, track performance indicators, provide feedback and generate reports more accurately and efficiently.
He listed the benefits of the initiative to include improved operational efficiency, enhanced transparency, faster decision-making, reduced paperwork and better monitoring of staff development and institutional performance.
During a practical demonstration, the Assistant Registrar in the Personnel Affairs Division, Mr. Ayodeji Daniel Olugboyega, guided participants through the operation of the platform, noting that access would be restricted to official institutional email addresses through the Polytechnic’s website.
Participants at the interactive session recommended a flexible implementation timeline to accommodate all users and called for the resolution of identified technical issues before full deployment.
Management, however, assured staff members that their observations and recommendations would be taken into consideration to guarantee a smooth and effective rollout of the e-appraisal system.
The programme was attended by the Polytechnic Librarian, Dr. Fasa Rachael Aladeniyi, deans, directors, and heads of departments, divisions and units.
