FEDPOLEL Moves to Tackle Rising Kidney Failure Cases with Health Seminar

The Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji (FEDPOLEL), Ondo State, has announced plans to host a one-day seminar focused on the prevention of kidney failure, as part of efforts to address the growing health concern in Nigeria.
The seminar, approved by the institution’s management, is scheduled to take place on Monday, May 4, 2026, at the institution’s 1,500-capacity Multipurpose Auditorium, beginning at 9:30 a.m.
According to a notice issued by the Deputy Registrar, Information, Protocol and Passages, Mr. Sanmi Enigbokan, the programme will feature a medical team led by Professor Akinbodewa Akinwumi of the ACE Kidney and Transplant Foundation, Ondo City. The team is expected to educate participants on preventive measures and raise awareness about kidney-related diseases.
The initiative is aimed at curbing the increasing prevalence of kidney failure across the country through early detection and lifestyle education.
Management has directed all staff and students of the polytechnic to attend the seminar promptly, emphasizing the importance of collective participation to ensure the success of the programme.
The institution also extended goodwill messages to members of its community, marking the beginning of a new month.
