Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji Honours Late Council Member Hon. Solomon Baribote
Ile-Oluji, Ondo State – In a heartfelt ceremony, Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji, paid tribute to one of its distinguished Council members, Late Hon. Solomon Baribote, celebrating his life and service to the institution.
The valedictory session, held on Wednesday, 13th May 2026, in the Council Chambers, drew members of the Governing Council, principal officers, deans, directors, and relatives of the late Hon. Baribote. The 44-year-old council member passed away on 19th December 2025, leaving behind a legacy of integrity, dedication, and public service.
In an emotional address, Council Chairman Hon. Barr. Ademubowale Mercy Adelabu extended condolences to the family and colleagues, highlighting Hon. Baribote’s commitment to transparency, consensus-building, and the public good. “Let us honour his memory by continuing to discharge our duties with integrity, fairness, and commitment,” she urged.
Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Ademola Iyanda Ebeloku, described the late council member as diligent, thoughtful, and deeply invested in the institution’s growth. Other council members, including the Registrar, Mr. Gabriel Adeyemi Awe, and Mr. Abiola Olutunde Alalade, also paid glowing tributes, noting his sincerity, perseverance, and courage.
The session concluded with prayers led by Council member TPL Umar Shuaibu and the Bursar, Mr. Sehinde Ebenezer Olabode, seeking eternal rest for Hon. Baribote and strength for his grieving family.
Hon. Solomon Baribote, appointed to the Governing Council on 14th June 2024, is survived by his wife, children, and extended family. His contributions to the Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji, remain a lasting testament to his dedication and service.
