Academic Adopts New Family Surname, Announces Official Name Change

A scholar and academic, Mrs Fadekemi Bosede Jogbodo, PhD, has formally announced a change of name to Mrs Fadekemi Bosede Niran-Jogbodo, PhD, citing the need to align with her nuclear family identity.
In a public notice made available to colleagues, associates, institutions and the general public, she explained that the change reflects her decision to adopt the compound surname already borne by her children from birth.
According to her, “Jogbodo” remains the extended family name of her husband, while “Niran-Jogbodo” represents the official surname of their nuclear family, formed from her husband’s personal and family names.
She added that all legal and court procedures required for the name change had been completed.
The academic further stated that all official documents, records, correspondences and transactions bearing the former name, Mrs Fadekemi Bosede Jogbodo, PhD, should henceforth be recognised as belonging to Mrs Fadekemi Bosede Niran-Jogbodo, PhD.
She appealed to all concerned parties to take note of the development and accord the necessary recognition to the new name.
