In a proactive move to reinforce security across its campus and surrounding environment, the Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji (FEDPOLEL), has convened a strategic security meeting involving key security agencies and stakeholders within the host community.
The meeting, held on Thursday, June 4, 2026, brought together representatives of the Nigeria Police Force, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), the newly deployed sectional head of the Nigerian Army, Ile-Oluji Outpost, and a representative of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN).
Speaking during the engagement, the Institution’s Head of Security Unit, Mr. Jide Babayanju, explained that the meeting was aimed at reviewing the prevailing security situation within and around the Polytechnic, strengthening inter-agency collaboration, enhancing intelligence gathering and sharing, and developing effective strategies to prevent security threats.
Discussions centred on the importance of timely information exchange, coordinated emergency response mechanisms, and sustained surveillance of vulnerable locations within the Institution.
The initiative forms part of the Polytechnic’s ongoing commitment to ensuring a secure, peaceful, and conducive environment for teaching, learning, and administrative activities.
At the end of the meeting, participants reaffirmed their commitment to working closely with the Management of the Institution to guarantee the safety of students, staff, and visitors, particularly in the face of current security challenges across the country.
