OAUSTECH VC Hails Aiyedatiwa Over 60% Subvention Increase, Approval of 2026 FGN/Unions Agreements
The Vice-Chancellor of Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Okitipupa, Prof. Temi Ologunorisa, has commended the Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for approving a 60 per cent increase in monthly subventions to state-owned tertiary institutions and the implementation of the 2026 Federal Government/Unions Agreements.
Ologunorisa described the decisions as timely and unprecedented interventions capable of strengthening the operations of tertiary institutions and promoting stability within the education sector.
The Vice-Chancellor said the increased subvention would enhance OAUSTECH’s capacity to provide quality teaching and research, while improving the welfare of staff and students.
He also noted that the approval of the FGN/Unions Agreements had helped to avert potential industrial actions and restore stability across state-owned tertiary institutions in Ondo State.
According to him, the interventions demonstrate Governor Aiyedatiwa’s commitment to education and human capital development.
“This demonstrates Your Excellency’s commitment to education and human capital development in Ondo State. OAUSTECH remains committed to supporting the OUR EASE Agenda of your administration,” Ologunorisa stated.
The Vice-Chancellor, on behalf of the University Management, Senate, staff and students, expressed appreciation to Governor Aiyedatiwa for prioritising education and the wellbeing of the university community.
