FEDPOLEL Rector Charges Students on Discipline, Academic Excellence as 2026/2027 Session Begins

The Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji (FEDPOLEL), Ondo State, Dr. Ademola Iyanda Ebeloku, has charged students to embrace discipline, shun social vices and remain committed to academic excellence as the institution begins its 2026/2027 academic session.
Ebeloku also reiterated the institution’s zero tolerance for cultism, misconduct, disobedience to constituted authorities and violations of its rules and regulations.
The Rector gave the charge in his welcome address to staff and students of the institution at the commencement of the new academic session.
He welcomed newly admitted students at the National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) levels, describing their choice of FEDPOLEL as a positive step towards achieving their academic and career aspirations.
He assured them of the institution’s commitment to providing a peaceful and conducive learning environment where they could acquire relevant knowledge, practical skills and values needed to succeed in their chosen careers and contribute meaningfully to national development.
According to him, FEDPOLEL remains committed to academic excellence, accountability, entrepreneurship, innovation, creativity and teamwork.
The Rector urged the newly admitted students to familiarise themselves with the Students’ Information Handbook, which provides guidance on acceptable conduct and the institution’s rules and regulations.
He further encouraged them to remain law-abiding, disciplined and focused on their academic pursuits, stressing the need to take advantage of available opportunities and demonstrate dedication, determination and perseverance in their studies.
Ebeloku assured students that the institution’s management remained committed to providing essential facilities and support to improve their learning experience.
He listed some of the facilities to include a well-stocked digital library, conducive classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, hostel accommodation and other essential learning resources.
Addressing returning students, the Rector urged them to resume academic activities with renewed commitment, enthusiasm and determination, advising them to manage their time effectively, avoid procrastination and maintain consistency in their academic pursuits.
He noted that academic success required discipline, diligence and the determination to do the right thing at the right time.
The Rector also warned staff members against unethical practices, including extortion of money from students, the sale of handouts, writing academic projects on behalf of students, and selling food and related items in offices.
He stated that any staff member found engaging in such practices would face appropriate disciplinary action in accordance with the institution’s existing rules and regulations.
Ebeloku consequently urged members of staff to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity and ethical conduct in the discharge of their responsibilities.
In another development, the Rector congratulated a staff member of the Department of Civil Engineering, Mr. Taiwo Akintayo, on his marriage to Mrs. Omowumi Akintayo.
The couple exchanged marital vows on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Saint Luke’s Anglican Church, Ile-Oluji.
He prayed for God’s blessings upon their union, wishing them peace, happiness and a prosperous home.
The Rector, on behalf of the institution’s management, wished all staff and students a productive, fulfilling and successful 2026/2027 academic session.
