Batts 4 BAT Begins Grassroots Drive in Ondo for Tinubu’s 2027 Re-election Bid

A support group backing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid, Battalions for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (Batts 4 BAT), has launched a grassroots mobilisation campaign in Ondo State, targeting wards, polling units and communities across the state.
The group said the initiative would focus on a door-to-door and house-to-house engagement strategy aimed at building support for the President ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The mobilisation campaign, sponsored by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, was unveiled by the group’s Commander, Temitope Iwagun, with members and supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) drawn from the 18 local government areas of Ondo State in attendance.
Speaking at the launch, Iwagun described Batts 4 BAT as a women-led youth platform established to mobilise Nigerians at the grassroots in support of Tinubu’s administration.
She said the group’s decision to support the President was based on what it described as the impact of his policies and reforms across different sectors of the economy.
According to her, Tinubu’s administration had demonstrated capacity through initiatives that had provided support and opportunities for Nigerians, particularly young people.

Iwagun cited the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) as one of the programmes she said had given students greater access to education support.
“We are not supporting President Tinubu just because he is a politician, but because he is doing well. Imagine NELFUND. You can get a student loan and you don’t have to say that this isn’t enough support to pay it. You can pay it at any time. That is enough reason for us to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” she said.
She also criticised calls by opposition figures for the return of fuel subsidy, arguing that the removal of subsidy was a policy decision that should remain in place.
The Batts 4 BAT commander stressed that the group was not formed for symbolic political activities but to create a strong grassroots structure that would promote youth and women participation in politics.
“Batts 4 BAT is beyond ceremonial mobilisation. We are showing our capacity because we know that to demonstrate capacity in politics, you must make sure that you have grassroots mobilisation,” Iwagun said.
Also speaking at the event, Secretary-General of the Asiwaju Mandate Group, Oladele Olugbemi, urged members of Batts 4 BAT to strengthen their grassroots activities and work towards ensuring Tinubu’s victory in the 2027 election.
Olugbemi said the Tinubu administration had introduced policies and programmes that were positively affecting Nigerians, citing developments in infrastructure, education, agriculture and security.
“The government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the first that has ever happened in the history of Nigeria. This is the first time that we are witnessing not just democracy, but democracy getting to the grassroots and people at the grassroots are benefiting,” he said.
He urged Nigerians to support the continuation of the administration, saying a second term would allow the government to consolidate its ongoing reforms.
The group said it would continue expanding its structure across Ondo State, with a focus on mobilising youths, women and APC supporters at ward and community levels ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
