The Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria–APBN, Ondo State Chapter ,has congratulated Dr. (Sur ) Matthew Ibitoye as the newly elected President of the Nigerian Institution of Surveyors–NiS.

The  Chairman of the Association, sir Ologun conveyed the congratulatory messages to the University Don via the Publicity Secretary of the bodies, Olusegun HOSEA, said the entire members of the association were very happy as he becomes the President of the NIS  being the pioneer chairman of the APBN, Ondo State Chapter .He however wished him a successful tenure in his new leadership roles.

The University Don is an Associate Professor in the Department of Remote Sensing and Geoscience Information System of the Federal University of Technology, Akure .He is the 23rd President of the Institutions and the investiture holds on 23rd June, 2023 in Abuja.

In another development, Dr. Ibitoye, who was the Pioneer Chairman, Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria (APBN), Ondo State Chapter, obtained his M.Sc. degree in Environmental Control and Management and Ph.D in Geography (Urban Geomorphology) both from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife in 2006 and 2012 respectively.

Meanwhile, the Vice Chancellor, Federal University of Technology, Akure,  Professor Adenike Oladiji, has congratulated him over his new position and expressed her delight in the development, saying it is a further proof of the rich faculty FUTA is endowed with. She wished Dr (Surv.) Ibitoye well in his new responsibility and assured NIS that he will , acquit himself creditably well in the position.

Surveyor Ibitoye, a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Surveyors (fnis) was born in October, 1957 to the family of Chief Joseph Ibitoye and Mrs. Folasade Ibitoye (Nee Adetoye) both of Oda, Akure South Local Government Area, Ondo State.
Dr. Surv. Ibitoye, fnis, is happily married to Funmilola and the marriage is blessed with children and grandchild.
