Ondo 2024: We Need A Leadership For The State- Kekemeke

Ahead of the Governorship Primary election of the All Progressives Congress -APC slated for April, 20, 2024, one of the progressive aspirant of the party Isaac Kekemeke has said that the Ondo State need a visionary leadership for the state who would used the state resources to create wealth and inturned develop the state in order to solve some of the social problems that is facing the state .

Speaking at the interactive section with crops Journalists in a world Press Conference organised by the Nigeria Union of Journalists held in Akure, Ondo State . Kekemeke said one of his objectives was to deploy the entire governmental power to wage war against Hunger, poverty, unemployment, insecurity and decayed basic infrastructure.

According to him, he said ” as a state , we can no longer afford to amuse ourselves with bare pettiness, low sentiments and prejudices that have rudely arrested our growth and development. We need a leadership for the state , a leadership not only for a segment of the state but for the whole State.”

Speaking further, Kekemeke was of the opinion that Ondo State needs a leadership  that sufficiently understands the philosophy of the present Federal Government of President Bola Ahmed TINUBU and it’s Renewed Hope programme for effective partnership and collaboration. He said a leadership that will uphold the tenants and ideals of good governance bequeathed to us by Chief Obafemi Awolowo and PA Michael Adekunle Ajasin and others.

Similarly, Kekemeke , a former Secretary to State Government (SSG), Former Attorney General, former Commissioner, works, Lands and Housing as well as a former Law Maker in the State House of Assembly explained that if becoming Governor of the state he would ensure an industrial take – off of Ondo State, change the current ‘ Civil Service ” status and grow the revenue base of the state with corresponding increase in government spending for the good of the people.

He went further by saying that he would offer free and compulsory primary education, free secondary school education . He promised to subsidised tertiary education, increased quality health services for all including the establishment of pharmaceutical company and the ” Ibile” hospital.

He also, spoke on making food available and give employment opportunities through the civil Farmer ( Agbe Olowo Osu) and the establishment of Small scale agro-allied industries. While speaking on some of the industries to be established which included Yam and Plantain Flour, Fish, Gin distillery, Palm wine bottling , cottage oil palm mills , Chocolate and feed mill , Kekemeke said, government would give free land ,free access road and tax exemption to industrialists that are able to employ between 500 and 1000 citizens of Ondo State.
