Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, on Saturday continued his tour of the local government areas of the state to meet party members ahead of next Saturday’s governorship primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

On the second day of his tour, the Governor was warmly received by enthusiastic supporters as he visited Ondo West, Ondo East and Ileoluji-Okeigbo local government areas.

Addressing the crowds, Governor Aiyedatiwa said he has been hugely impressed with the wonderful support from party members, promising not to take the support for granted.

The campaign tour started at Ondo West where party leaders spoke in unison in support of the emergence of Governor Aiyedatiwa as the governorship candidate of the APC.

Addressing the crowd of party members gathered at the Robertware Hall, Ondo town, the Governor thanked party leaders and members for their overwhelming support which will translate to victory at the primary.

The Governor commended the unity of purpose among leaders of the party in the local government, adding this has made Ondo West one of his major strongholds ahead of the primary.

Earlier, the Governor had paid a visit to the Osemawe of Ondo, Oba Victor Kiladejo and the Osemawe-in-Council, who commended the Governor for showing genuine commitment to the development of Ondo Kingdom.

At Ileoluji-Okeigbo local government, the Governor also paid visit to the traditional rulers before proceeding to address party members in separate rallies at Okeigbo and Ileoluji, where he received some decampees into the party.

Your unwavering support and dedication in mobilizing our party members to support my candidacy have not gone unnoticed. I am deeply humbled by your confidence in me.”

At Bolorunduro, Ondo East, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Olamide Oladiji, led other party leaders to receive the Governor and his entourage.

After a brief meeting with the traditional rulers of the local government, the Governor addressed party members, thanking their for waiting patiently for him despite coming a bit behind schedule.

The Governor who assured that the annual dues of about 110,000 party members have been paid to allow them participate in the primary, urged them to bring along their party membership cards to exercise their franchise on April 20.
