The APC leaders and stakeholders from ward 12, Akungba Akoko, Akoko South West Local Government area of Ondo State, recently held their meeting at the party secretariat in which they called on all members from the ward to support Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for him to win the coming governorship election slated for Nov 16th, 2024.

The meeting which was the fourth edition in recent time was organised by concerned leaders due to the absence of ward meetings for the past seven years.

In his addressed to APC members, the convener of the meeting, Barr. Victor Olatoyegun, appreciated the presence of all the APC members from the ward for attending the meeting.

He said,” On behalf of elders and leaders from ward 12 Akungba Akoko, I appreciate the presence of all the APC members for attending today’s meeting.

We’re so grateful to every leader who by one way or the other have contributed immensely towards the success of the meeting.

This is the time to put aside all our grievances and work for the progress of the party.

All what we need is unity, love and support for our amiable Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa to become the governor of Ondo in the November 16th governorship election”.

Barr. Olatoyegun added that, while the opposition party (PDP) in the ward is regrouping themselves to win the ward for their party in the next governorship election, APC members cannot afford to be indifferent, because the present member of the Ondo State House of Assembly is a member of PDP from the ward.

It’s now compulsory for us to hold our meeting regularly if we want to win the ward for our party”, he said.

However, it was stated in the meeting that an elder committee should be formed to look into the affairs of the ward, which was agreed among the members present at the meeting.

Hon. Ganiyu Tiamiyu was nominated to be the chairman of the elders forum, whose function is to organise leadership meetings in ward 12.

One of the leader, Hon. Abiodun Ogunbi said, “The problems in the ward is beyond only holding a meeting as the member representing Akoko South West and Akoko South East, federal constituency Hon. Gboyega Adefarati who is from the ward ought to be more active.

Hon. Gboyega Adefarati, a leader in the ward ought to have organised a meeting for the leaders and members of the ward, because leadership starts from the local wards”.

The meeting agreed that the leadership committee to be set up must include the two wards in Akungba Akoko i.e. wards 12 & 13.

Members of Ward 12 agreed that the meeting should be holding regularly as to ensure victory for APC in the forthcoming governorship election in Ondo State.

About 500 people attended the meeting among whom included the following leaders and stakeholders, Barr. Victor Olatoyegun, Hon. Abiodun Ogunbi, Hon Tiamiyu Ganiyu, Prince Adeoba, Elder Kilani, Chief Mrs Iyaewe, Elder Adedoyin Andrew.

A chieftain of APC Barr. Tolu Babaleye and others from ward 13, Akungba Akoko also attended in solidarity.
