The Governing Council, Adeyemi College of Education Ondo, has appointed the erstwhile Deputy Provost of the Institution, Dr. Ajigbade Ikuejube as Acting Provost.
The information concerning the appointment was contained in a statement dated November 10, 2022, signed and issued by the Registrar of the College, Mrs. Olufisayo Olukemi Fakorede.
The statement read in part “The Council at its emergency meeting of Monday 7th November, 2022 considered and noted the end of first tenure of the College Provost, Dr. S.A Akintunde.
“The Council has therefore appointed Dr. Ajigbade Ikuejube as the Acting Provost with effect from Monday 7th November, 2022”.
Dr. Ajigbade Ikuejube, assumed duty in the College on 1st September, 1994 and rose to the position of Chief lecturer on 1st October, 2010. He has held various positions in the College, which include Vice Dean, School of Arts and Social Sciences (2010-2012); Dean, School of Arts and Social Sciences (2014-2016); Dean, School of Degree Studies(2016-2019); Member Postgraduate Studies and Research Committee (2009-2010) as well as Students Disciplinary Committee (2010-2012) and Chairman Committee of Deans and Directors (2014-2016).
He was first appointed as Deputy Provost for a period of two years between 29th August 2019 and 28th August, 2021 and later reappointed for a second term between 29th August 2021 and Sunday, 6th November 2022. He is the Chairman Business Committee of Academic Board 2019 to date and Demonstration Model Schools Board.
In addition, the new Acting Provost also rendered services to the College as Chairman Ad-Hoc Committee on Re-employment and proper placement of staff of the College Demonstration School (2015); College Junior Administrative/Technical staff Review (2015), College space and Accommodation Committee (2014-2016), Chairman Inaugural Lecture Committee since 2015 among others.
Scholar of International repute, Dr. Ajigbade Ikuejube, has to his credits 70 Publications in reputable Local and International Journals. He has made significant contributions in the field of academics and community service. He is currently the Zonal pastor of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Ebenezer Tabernacle, Ondo; Chairman University of Medical Sciences Ondo (UNIMED) Parents’ Executives Council since 2018 and President, University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED) stakeholders since 2018.
Dr. Ajigbade Ikuejube is happily married to Mrs. Blessing Ikuejube and blessed with three lovely children.
