Art is a a noble field — Fadeni

The Eminent Artist Oladotun Fadeni, the CEO of Dolapo Art Gallery has said Art work is a special one and a noble profession. Speaking in an interview with the Exponent Magazine News-Online today during his Exhibition titled : Festive of Colours. In Akure, the state capital of Ondo State said Art work formed the basics part of our existence in life. According to him, without Art he doesn’t think that any body could live on this planet because it’s the work of an Art that helped us determined colours.

The Eminent Artist who took us to various Artistic works he have done that depitch various events in our society like snatching of ballot Box during an election, how Military took control over a state of a protest that led to sporadic shooting and so on. Said art work helped us to produced our dressing ,the basket that we used and even the Vehicle that we used started from the design and all these are works of the Artist.

 

He explained that Art is the very basis of our background because anything that we wants to do started from design and drawing including building of a House. He said Art started from the drawing of a single line which was the several collection of dot which form the genealogy of the work of an Art.
Similarly , the Exhibition which drew more attention from friends and other eminent personality in the society served as a ways of appreciating the magnitude of the art works in the society.

During the exhibition, the organizers explained that by and large no society could exist without the Art . He called on the government to started encouraging the Artist to produce some Artistic works and after producing some fabric like Adire and Batic , Raffia palm weaving e.t.c could be exported to other neighbouring countries if government could encourage all these things as it would bring good foreign exchanges to the economy.

In another development, Eminent Artist Oladotun Fadeni said Art could be used to improved our economy as nothing is useless in the Art. He was of the opinion that all the natural resources in the forestry are useful to Artist and that by the time all these are put together with the support of government, we will go place in time of export in our economy .

While, explaining, Mr Fadeni said because of the nature of Art , it’s the Tertiary need of a man. He said a man must be comfortable first in time of essential basics of life before one could think of Art .
He called on the government to come  into their Aid by encouraging Artist and also built an art Villages for the people to come in, practice and make money and that from there export promotion could thrived .

He conclude that government should improve the welfare of the Artist, encouraged them massively .
