USAID Announces Call for Private Sector Innovations in the Fight Against Corruption

Today, USAID Deputy Administrator Isobel Coleman announced Doing Business With Integrity, a call for innovations under the Countering Transnational Corruption Grand Challenge for Development at an event with the Atlantic Council on the margins of the United Nations General Assembly.

USAID understands that now, more than ever, success in the fight against corruption requires a global response – one that not only strategically engages governments and civil society, but also the private sector. Building upon USAID’s decades of experience partnering with businesses and industries, Doing Business With Integrity seeds purpose-driven partnerships with business associations and companies of all sizes around the globe.

Doing Business With Integrity will provide up to $4 million in grants for solutions that reflect innovative thinking; advance the range, depth, and impact of private sector actions to reduce transnational corruption; and demonstrate that anti-corruption efforts can be good for business.

The funding was made available through the EDGE Fund, USAID’s public-private partnership fund to drive collaborative solutions and leverage core business interests and operations that drive more inclusivity, resilience, and shared prosperity. The EDGE Fund is part of an Agency-wide initiative to modernize private sector engagement and enables USAID and the private sector to work together for more effective, efficient, and sustainable partnerships that address today’s global challenges – including corruption.

As part of USAID’s Countering Transnational Corruption Grand Challenge for Development, this new funding opportunity incentivizes the type of bold action from the private sector that is critical to meeting the corruption challenges of today and tomorrow.
