Gov Sanwoolu Approves N320k End-of-the-Year Bonus for Civil Servants in Lagos

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwoolu has approved a humongous amount of money as an End-of-the-Year bonus for the civil servants in Lagos.The Lagos State End-of-the-Year was contained in a circular pasted on the boards of the Ministries Departments and Agencies in the state.

The circular signed by the Lagos State Head of Service, Bode Agoro, with reference number CIR/HOS/’23/Vol. 1/ 109 states that each of the Lagos State civil servants comprising of public servants, employees of local governments and local council development areas, Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board, and the Lagos Neighborhood Safety Corps will receive 50% of their basic salaries as their bonus for the End-of-the-Year.

The 50% End-of-Year bonus for the Lagos State civil servants is different from the N35,000 monthly palliative package for the state workers.

The circular also stated that the Lagos State Government has declared a December Tax holiday for the state workers.
The Round Tables learned that with the approval of the 50% End-of-Year bonus for the Civil servants in Lagos, the most junior civil servant in the state will go him with an amount between N32,500 and N45,000 bonus while the most senior civil servants will go home with a huge amount of money between N222,000 and N320,000, according to the salary scale listed below which is being used for Lagos State Government:

Grade level 02: N63,000 – N90,000

Grade level 03: N65,000 – N97,000
Grade level 04: N68,000 – N106,000
Grade level 05: N77,000 – N123,000
Grade level 06: N95,000 – N150,000
Grade level 07: N127,000 – N195,000
Grade level 08: N165,000 – N245,000
Grade level 09: N195,000 – N290,000
Grade level 10: N229,000 – N333,000
Grade level 11: N265,000 – N380,000
Grade level 12: N294,000 – N418,000
Grade level 13: N326,000 – N438,000
Grade level 14: N361,000 – N503,000
Grade level 15: N399,000 – N567,000
Grade level 16: N444,011 – N640,000
Interestingly, the End-of-the-Year bonus will be paid alongside the December salary of the Lagos State civil servants and it will not be taxed.
