In a major security update today, authorities of Amotekun Corps under the leadership of Akogun Adetunji Adeleye have paraded 21 suspects linked to various breaches of peace across the state in the past fortnight, highlighting their commitment to ensuring the safety and stability of the region. Among the suspects are individuals involved in kidnapping, anti-open grazing violations, and other criminal activities.

The suspects were apprehended through the continued efforts of the Yuletide 24-7 patrol and the specialized armored rangers, who have been deployed to address the increasing rate of security breaches, particularly in rural forested areas. According to the authorities, the latest roundup includes four suspected kidnappers, five individuals accused of violating the anti-open grazing law, and 12 others charged with a range of offenses including theft, assault, and attempted murder.

A particularly disturbing case involved one suspect who allegedly used a rod and pestle to knock unsuspecting Okada riders unconscious and steal their motorcycles. The authorities also revealed the arrest of a man found handcuffed, whose unexplained captivity is now the subject of investigation to determine which security agency may have been involved in his initial detention.

In addition to the rising number of security breaches, the authorities reported success in addressing violent clashes between farmers and herders, with ongoing dialogue aimed at reducing tensions. Farmers have been reassured that their farmlands will be protected, while herders have been reminded not to destroy crops.

Despite these incidents, authorities maintain that the state remains relatively peaceful, with border violations significantly reduced, thanks to the swift actions of the Amotekun Rangers. The public’s cooperation has been invaluable, and officials are calling for continued support through the provision of timely and actionable information, particularly via the state’s distress call line, 0807999989.

Authorities reiterated their commitment to cracking down on criminal activities, emphasizing the need for vigilance and community cooperation to ensure the ongoing safety of the state.
