The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ondo State Council, has congratulated veteran journalist Mr. Idowu Ajanaku on his recent appointment and swearing-in as the new Commissioner for Information and Orientation in the state.

In a statement jointly signed by the State Chairman, Prince Leke Adegbite, and the State Secretary, Comrade Olaoluwa Meshack, the NUJ described Ajanaku’s appointment as a “round peg in a round hole,” noting that his rich media background makes him well-suited for the role.

The union expressed confidence in Ajanaku’s capacity to leverage the media for effective public communication, adding that his experience as a senior journalist will be instrumental in promoting government programmes and enhancing public enlightenment.

“The NUJ leadership and members are ready to collaborate with the new Commissioner to ensure a well-informed society and smooth dissemination of government activities,” the statement read.

The Council also urged Mr. Ajanaku to foster a strong working relationship with journalists in the state, stressing that such synergy is vital for effective service delivery and strengthening the bond between government and the people.

The union reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Ministry of Information and Orientation under the new leadership for the collective good of Ondo State.

E-signed:
Prince Leke Adegbite — Chairman
Com. Olaoluwa Meshack — Secretary
