Aiyedatiwa Assures Ondo Residents of Rapid Completion of Road Projects
Ondo State Governor, Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has assured residents that his administration will complete all ongoing development projects across the state, declaring that no local government area will be left behind.
The Governor gave the assurance on Tuesday during his ongoing local government “Thank You” tour of Ifedore and Idanre, where residents and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) welcomed him in large numbers.
Speaking during the tour, Governor Aiyedatiwa said his administration had already commenced work on critical road infrastructure, including the 3km Ikota Road, the 7.5km Ijare–Akure Road and the Akure–Idanre Road, while rehabilitation of several previously abandoned roads is also ongoing. He added that one of the companies handling the road projects is indigenous to Ifedore Local Government Area.
According to the Governor, the speed of infrastructure delivery has been boosted by increased federal allocations following the economic reforms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which he said have enabled the state to embark on multiple development initiatives simultaneously.
Governor Aiyedatiwa described his electoral victory as a historic mandate, noting that the unprecedented “18–0 pro max” outcome across the state imposed a responsibility on his administration to deliver tangible dividends of democracy to the people.
He also urged APC members to sustain unity within the party, stressing that cohesion remains critical ahead of future elections. The Governor encouraged consultations among aspirants for National Assembly positions, assuring that the party would carefully consider all interests in selecting candidates.
In Idanre Local Government Area, the Governor expressed appreciation to residents for their overwhelming support, noting that the votes from the area played a decisive role in sealing his electoral victory.
Earlier, in his welcome address, the Ondo State Chairman of the APC, Engr Ade Adetimehin, commended the Governor for restoring peace to the area following a previous crisis.
Dignitaries at the events included Deputy Governor Dr Olayide Adelami; Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Olamide Oladiji; Secretary to the State Government, Dr Taiwo Fasoranti; Commissioners for Agriculture, Engr Leye Akinola, and for Women Affairs and Social Development, Dr Seun Osamaye; SUBEB Chairman, Victor Olabimtan; Director-General of OSRC Media Group, Kenneth Odusola-Stevenson; former Speakers Bamidele Oleyelogun and Ayo Agbonmuseri; members of the State Working Committee; APC Vice Chairman, Ikoto Agabra; Director-General, PPIMU, Rasaq Obe; and other party stalwarts.
