Rev. Dr. Bunmi Jenyo to Receive Political Icon and Leadership Award

At the forthcoming 2026 Fizzy Lecture and Award Ceremony organized by D Chronicle Media Ventures, themed “Southwest Security Synergy: Amotekun’s Role in Regional Stability and Development,” Rev. Dr. Jenyo Samuel Atanda Bunmi, Honourable Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Osun State, has been selected as a recipient of the Political Icon and Leadership Award, an honour reserved for individuals whose leadership impact has remained consistent, influential, and transformative.

The ceremony is scheduled to hold on February 22, 2026, at the OSDPC Event Hall, Ijapo Estate, Akure, by 2:00 p.m. The event will feature Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, Commandant of the Amotekun Corps, Ondo State, as Guest Speaker; Hon. Dayo Awude, Former Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, as Chairman; Hon. Otunba Timehin Adelegbe, MHR (Owo/Ose Federal Constituency) as Guest of Honour; and His Excellency, Hon. (Dr) Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, Governor of Ondo State, as Special Guest of Honour.

This recognition is being accorded within the context of a high-level discourse on regional security and development, bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, and stakeholders to examine collaborative approaches to sustainable growth and stability in the South West.

Rev. Dr. Bunmi is widely regarded as a seasoned administrator, accomplished political leader, and strategic thinker whose professional journey spans commerce, finance, media, insurance, import and export, automotive services, and industrial enterprise, with leadership footprints across Nigeria and Europe. Over the years, he has served with distinction in executive capacities as Managing Director, Chairman, Publisher, General Manager, and Unit Manager, consistently driving institutional growth, operational efficiency, and organizational relevance.

In the political sphere, Rev. Dr. Bunmi has earned respect as a disciplined party organizer and democratic strategist.

His service as Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Osun Central Senatorial District, and later as Zonal Secretary of the PDP, South West, reflects his commitment to party development, grassroots mobilization, and democratic governance. Through these roles, he distinguished himself as a bridge-builder and advocate of participatory leadership.

Currently serving as the Honourable Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Osun State, Rev. Dr. Bunmi has brought strategic clarity and renewed momentum to the ministry. His stewardship continues to focus on strengthening commercial frameworks, promoting industrial growth, empowering entrepreneurs, and positioning Osun State as a competitive destination for trade, investment, and sustainable economic development.

Over the years, his dedication to leadership excellence, integrity, and public service has earned him numerous recognitions at state, national, and international levels, affirming his status as a respected statesman and transformational leader.

In honouring Rev. Dr. Jenyo Samuel Atanda Bunmi with the Political Icon and Leadership Award, D Chronicle Media Ventures celebrates a leader whose influence is defined not merely by offices held, but by impact delivered, a true embodiment of visionary leadership and public service.
