How Gunmen Invaded Tomato Farmer, abducted his wife in Ondo

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers on Tuesday night invaded the residence of a tomato farmer along Oda Road in Akure, Ondo State, abducting his wife and shooting him during the attack.
The incident occurred on March 4, 2026, at about 8:45 p.m. at Isagba Community along Oda Road in Akure, according to a statement by the Ondo State Police Command.
Police said the assailants stormed the residence of Adesida Daniel, a tomato farmer, and abducted his wife during the invasion. Daniel reportedly sustained a gunshot injury to his right hand while attempting to resist the attackers.
The Command said police operatives responded swiftly after receiving a distress call, mobilising to the scene where the injured victim was rescued and taken to the Police Clinic for medical attention while the area was secured.
The Commissioner of Police in the state has since ordered intensified patrols, bush-combing operations and enhanced intelligence gathering within the affected community and neighbouring areas to track down the fleeing suspects.
The police condemned the attack and assured residents that every effort is being made to apprehend those responsible and bring them to justice.
Residents have also been urged to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious movements or individuals to the nearest police station.
