Operatives of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, popularly known as Amotekun, have successfully rescued five kidnap victims during two separate overnight operations in Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The Corps Commander, Adetunji Adeleye, disclosed that a 45-year-old man and his 15-year-old son were abducted at Pelebe, on the outskirts of Oda-Akure Road, between 7:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. He explained that the victims were freed around 1:00 a.m. after a fierce confrontation between Amotekun operatives and the kidnappers.
Adeleye further revealed that three health workers who were earlier abducted also regained their freedom at about 4:30 a.m. and are currently receiving medical attention at an Amotekun facility.
He reassured residents that the protection of lives and property remains a top priority of the state government, urging the public to support security agencies with timely and credible information to strengthen safety across the state.
