Ilaje LG Boss Challenges Wealthy Indigenes as Philanthropist Donates Police Facility

The Executive Chairman of Ilaje Local Government Area, Hon. Amona Maurice Oripenaye (popularly known as ARAH), has called on affluent sons and daughters of Ilaje land to emulate acts of community development, following the commissioning of a newly built administrative building for the Igbokoda Police Station.
The facility, constructed and donated by the Chief Executive Officer of High Tide Marine Company, Senior High Chief Benjamin Olomidegun, was inaugurated on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, in Igbokoda.
Speaking at the event, Oripenaye commended Olomidegun’s sustained contributions to the development of Ilaje land, describing his gestures as a challenge to other well-to-do indigenes both at home and in the diaspora to invest in the progress of their communities.
The council chairman noted that Olomidegun’s philanthropic interventions, which include employment opportunities for many Ilaje youths through his company, have positioned him as a key driver of grassroots development and a source of inspiration to many.
He further praised the marine business magnate for his commitment to selflessness, patriotism, and human development, adding that his efforts have earned him widespread admiration among the people.
In recognition of his contributions, Olomidegun was honoured with an Award of Excellence and conferred with the title of Asiwaju of Ilaje Land by the local government authority.
The event drew community leaders, stakeholders, and residents who lauded the initiative as a boost to security infrastructure in the area.
