OSOPADEC to Deploy CCTV on Key Projects as Poroye Honours Security Chiefs
The Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC) has concluded plans to install Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras at strategic public infrastructure across its mandate areas as part of efforts to strengthen security and safeguard public investments.
The Executive Chairman of OSOPADEC, Prince Olabiyi Olaleye Poroye, disclosed this while hosting the leadership of security agencies in Ondo State at a special appreciation get-together held in recognition of their commitment to maintaining peace and security across the state.
Poroye said Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa had directed that CCTV cameras be installed at key locations, including the Obe-Nla Concrete Walkway and street lighting projects, to improve surveillance and support security agencies in crime prevention and intelligence gathering.
He commended the security agencies for their dedication, noting that the prevailing peace in Ondo State has made the state one of the safest environments in Nigeria’s coastal region, thereby attracting investors and encouraging economic activities.
The OSOPADEC Chairman also revealed that, in addition to the conventional security agencies, the Ondo State Government, through the Commission, engages private security outfits to complement ongoing efforts to protect communities within OSOPADEC’s mandate areas.
He reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to collaborating with security stakeholders to sustain peace, enhance public safety, and create an enabling environment for development across the oil-producing communities in the state.
