Ondo State Government Allocates N633M for WAEC Fees of 23,000 Students

The Ondo State Government has approved N633 million for the payment of WAEC registration fees for public secondary school students in the state, easing the financial burden on parents and guardians.
According to the press release from the office of the Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan,
Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Ondo State., Governor Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, in a statement on Friday, revealed that the funds will cover the examination fees for 23,048 students who successfully passed the Joint Senior Secondary School II Promotion Examination. This move comes as part of the state’s ongoing effort to support education and ensure equitable access to academic opportunities.
The initiative, which has been in place for several years, is a vital relief for families facing economic hardships and ensures that no eligible student is excluded from taking the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) due to financial constraints.
Governor Aiyedatiwa’s commitment to funding the WASSCE registration reflects his administration’s focus on education, human capital development, and entrepreneurship as part of the ‘OUR-EASE’ policy. This initiative aligns with the state’s efforts to foster a more inclusive and accessible education system for all students, regardless of their socio-economic background.
