Public Hearing Scheduled for FCT Lower Courts Bill: House of Representatives Seeks Input from Citizens and Stakeholders

By Exponent News Akure| July 22, 2025

In a bid to enhance the judicial framework within the Federal Capital Territory, the House of Representatives has announced a Public Hearing on the FCT Lower Courts (Establishment) Bill. Set for Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at the House of Representatives Complex, this event aims to gather insights from members of the judiciary, civil society organizations, and the general public.

The proposed legislation seeks to establish lower courts in Abuja, facilitating more efficient access to justice for all citizens. This initiative reflects the House’s commitment to strengthening the rule of law and ensuring that judicial processes are both effective and accessible without unnecessary delays.

The upcoming Public Hearing will serve as a crucial platform for stakeholders to voice their opinions, concerns, and recommendations on the Bill. The House of Representatives emphasizes the importance of citizen engagement and collaboration in shaping a judiciary that truly serves the public’s interests.

Stakeholders and citizens are encouraged to register in advance to secure their participation. Registration details and further information can be found on the House of Representatives’ official website or by contacting the Office of the House Spokesman directly.

The public is invited to contribute to this vital legislative process, helping to ensure that the judiciary evolves to meet the needs of all Nigerians.

For more information, please contact the Office of the House Spokesman at press@hor.ng or call +234 810 000 0000.
