In a significant breakthrough against organized vehicle theft, operatives of the Yaba Police Division in Ondo Town have arrested a suspected notorious motorcycle snatcher, Michael Olasunkonmi, aged 37, following a well-coordinated intelligence operation.

The suspect, who had been on the command’s watchlist for his alleged involvement in multiple violent motorcycle robberies at gunpoint, was apprehended on 29th July 2025 at his hideout located at No. 76 Temikoluwa Street, Yaba, Ondo State.

During the operation, law enforcement agents recovered several incriminating items, including a black police beret cap, a pair of black gloves, three locally-prepared pots containing various charms, and a bundle of locally-spun metallized electrical cables suspected to have been vandalized.

Preliminary investigations indicate that Olasunkonmi may be part of a larger criminal syndicate engaged in coordinated vehicle theft and cable vandalism across the region.

Police authorities confirmed that the suspect is currently in custody and will be transferred to the State Intelligence and Tactical Response Corps (SITREC) for further investigation and possible prosecution.
