Story:
Speaking after receiving the award, Asagunla expressed her gratitude, noting that she never anticipated such recognition for what she considered “just doing [her] job.”
“I can say I’m still in shock because I was not actually expecting it. I give God all the glory,” she said. “My little efforts in my job — I didn’t know people were taking note of them.”
She dedicated the award to all past provosts of the college, particularly Dr. Samson Adeola Odedina, who established the Office of Public Relations at the institution.
“If he had not emphasized the importance of public relations, I would not be here today,” Asagunla remarked, expressing her deep appreciation.
The recognition highlights her commitment to enhancing the college’s public image and communication outreach, reinforcing her role as a key voice in the institution’s engagement with the public.
