
Breaking: Aiyedatiwa Passes Vote of Confidence in Amotekun Commander

The Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has passed vote of confidence in the leadership of Tunji Adeleye, the Commander of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, codenamed Amotekun.
Speaking at the commissioning of the Corps Training Hall in Akure, Aiyedatiwa said that no amount of social media narratives against the Commander would make him sack him, because he has demonstrated commitment and passion for the job. He said people have been coming to him to relieve the man of his job but he refused to listen to them .He openly declared to him that “You are going nowhere” the Governor declared.
In another development, the Governor reiterated his commitment to continuing support for the agency and other security agencies in the state to ensure the provision of security for the good people of Ondo State.
The Governor also promised to recruit an additional five hundred personnel to boost the manpower of the Amotekun Corps in order to continue combating crime in the state. While speaking, the Governor used the forum to commend all the heads of security agencies present for their collaboration in ensuring that peace and tranquility reign in the state. According to him, Ondo State remains the safest state in the country due to the effectiveness and proactiveness of the security agencies in responding to emergency calls.
According to the Governor, while dedicating the multipurpose hall of the Corps, the agency started its cooperative society with two million naira in 2021, and its capital base has now grown to forty million naira as at the time of filing this report. Some of the Corps personnel were called upon to receive their dividends during the annual general meeting of the agency.
The event was highly attended by Royal Fathers and other government dignitaries.
