
Police Arrest Three Over 27-Year-Old Woman’s Murder in Ondo
The Ondo State Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with the brutal killing of a 27-year-old woman, Faith, in the Fagun area of Ondo State.
The incident, which was reported at the Fagun Division on February 5, 2026, prompted a full-scale investigation ordered by the Commissioner of Police, CP Adebowale Lawal.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, operatives swiftly responded to the distress call and discovered the lifeless body of the victim at Fagun Estate Road 5. The body was evacuated and deposited at the State Specialist Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy.
Preliminary investigations revealed that unidentified assailants had forcibly gained entry into the compound of one Helen before attacking Faith with machetes, inflicting fatal injuries.
Following coordinated investigative efforts, the police apprehended three suspects identified as Olayode, 27; Temitope, 32; and Bolaji, 22. The suspects are currently in custody and have reportedly provided useful information aiding ongoing investigations. They are expected to be charged to court upon conclusion of the investigation.
The Commissioner of Police urged residents to remain calm and assured the public that adequate security measures have been put in place across the area to prevent further incidents.
The Command also expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, for his continued support and strategic leadership, noting that ongoing reforms and technological initiatives have strengthened policing operations in the state.
Residents were encouraged to provide credible and actionable information to the police to enhance security across the state.
