Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State
In a decisive move to bridge the gap between academia and the rapidly evolving global job market, Elizade University has convened strategic stakeholders to design clearer and more rewarding career pathways for young people.
Addressing a cross-section of school administrators and education partners at a high-level engagement forum, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Philip Gbenro Oguntunde, stated that the institution is proactively responding to emerging academic and professional trends shaping the 21st-century workforce.
He explained that the University is rolling out dynamic and forward-looking programmes tailored to meet global professional demands while equipping students with relevant, practical, and sustainable skills.
According to the Vice-Chancellor, these initiatives are designed to ensure that both graduates and postgraduates of the institution maintain a competitive edge as products of a truly world-class university.
Reinforcing the institution’s strategic direction, the Registrar, Omololu Adegbenro, noted that global economic realities are being systematically integrated into academic curricula across departments. This approach, he said, guarantees that graduates remain adaptable, relevant, and highly sought-after in both local and international markets.
Participants at the stakeholders’ engagement described the initiative as timely and impactful. They urged the University to broaden the scope of the programme to include more secondary schools and educational institutions, emphasizing that the long-term benefits to youth career development far outweigh the current reach.
With this engagement, Elizade University reaffirmed its commitment to innovation, academic relevance, and the preparation of future-ready graduates equipped to thrive in a fast-changing global landscape.
