In a statement issued on Sunday, the President and the First Lady described Pastor Adeboye as “one of the nation’s greatest gifts” and a spiritual pillar whose prayers and counsel have continued to uplift Nigeria and its people.
They praised the revered cleric—fondly called Daddy G.O.—for his humility, depth of wisdom and decades-long commitment to national development, noting that his influence extends far beyond the pulpit.
According to the statement, Pastor Adeboye’s contributions span philanthropy, healthcare, education and economic empowerment, alongside his spiritual leadership of millions within and outside Nigeria.
The presidential couple congratulated the cleric and his wife, Pastor Foluke Adeboye, as well as members of the RCCG and the broader Christian community, expressing gratitude to God for what they described as an “exceptional life of impact that transcends cultures and borders.”
They also commended Pastor Adeboye’s steadfast prayers for the nation and his “patriotic zeal, manifest determination and commitment” to Nigeria’s progress over the past five decades.
As the cleric celebrates his 84th birthday, President Tinubu and the First Lady prayed for continued good health, strength and divine grace for him to sustain his work in the Lord’s vineyard.
