Students of CAC Grammar School, Akure, are set to benefit from technology-driven learning following the inauguration of a fully equipped e-learning centre aimed at improving classroom instruction and academic performance.
The facility, established through a partnership between the school and the Computer Literacy Initiative (CLI), publishers of the Learn with Ease series, consists of two modern classrooms fitted with audiovisual learning facilities and specially designed instructional materials to complement conventional teaching methods.

Commissioning the centre on Wednesday, the Director of Schools in the Ondo State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Mrs. Gladys Ilori, represented by Mrs. Olufolake Mapayi, described the project as a major contribution to the state’s efforts to modernise education through technology.
She commended the management of CAC Grammar School and the Computer Literacy Initiative for investing in digital learning, noting that e-learning has become an indispensable part of modern education. Ilori urged students to maximise the opportunity by making effective use of the facility while charging staff and students to ensure its proper maintenance.

Also speaking, the Zonal Education Officer, Mr. Adekunle Henry, represented by Dr. Sola Akinmoladun, praised the school for embracing Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to improve teaching standards. He encouraged the school to further strengthen the initiative by introducing electronic examination systems to promote examination integrity and better prepare students for external examinations.
In his welcome address, the Principal of CAC Grammar School, Dr. Toyin Olobayo, said the e-learning centre reflects the school’s commitment to delivering quality education through innovation.
According to him, the facility will expose students to modern learning resources beyond the traditional classroom, equipping them with the digital skills required in today’s rapidly changing world.

The Director of Computer Literacy Initiative, Mr. Ade Akande, explained that the programme was designed to simplify the teaching and learning of subjects often regarded as difficult, including Mathematics, English Language, Physics and Chemistry.
He said the audiovisual instructional materials were developed to improve students’ understanding, retention and overall academic performance, adding that while several schools have adopted the initiative for English and Mathematics, CAC Grammar School is the first in Akure to extend it to Physics and Chemistry.
Chairman of the school’s Parents-Teachers Association (PTA), Chief Yusuf Adebayo, described the e-learning centre as a worthwhile investment in the academic future of the students.
Stakeholders at the event expressed optimism that the adoption of digital learning tools would improve classroom instruction, boost students’ academic performance and prepare them for the demands of a technology-driven world.
