Ondo NIPR Joins Nationwide Roadshow Ahead of World PR Forum 2026
The Ondo State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) is set to join other state chapters across the country in a nationwide roadshow aimed at building public awareness ahead of the World Public Relations Forum (WPRF) 2026 in Abuja.
The roadshow, scheduled for Saturday, October 3, 2026, is part of activities designed to sensitise Nigerians to the significance of the global public relations gathering and the growing importance of responsible communication in society.
The World Public Relations Forum is scheduled to take place in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory, from November 15 to 21, 2026, under the theme, “Responsible Communication: The Voice of the World.”
In Ondo State, NIPR practitioners will converge at the State Secretariat of the Ondo State Ministry of Information Annex (Photo Lab), opposite UBA, Alagbaka, Akure, before embarking on a walk to NEPA and onward to the State Government Secretariat, Alagbaka.
The participants are expected to address members of the press at the State Government Secretariat before returning to the Chapter Secretariat, which will serve as the point of departure for the mobilisation.
According to the Ondo State NIPR Chapter, the roadshow is intended to take the message of WPRF 2026 beyond communication professionals and engage the wider public on the role of public relations and responsible communication in contemporary society.
The forum, organised by the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management in collaboration with the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, is expected to attract public relations and communication professionals, academics, policymakers, industry leaders and other stakeholders from Nigeria and around the world.
The event will provide opportunities for professional engagement, knowledge exchange and networking, while highlighting developments and emerging issues in the global public relations and communication industry.
The Ondo State Chapter said its participation in the roadshow would also provide an opportunity to demonstrate the visibility and professionalism of public relations practitioners in the state and contribute to the national campaign ahead of the Abuja forum.
The chapter reaffirmed its commitment to promoting ethical, strategic and responsible communication, describing the practice as important to building trust, strengthening institutions and advancing society.
The statement was signed by the State Chairman of NIPR, Ondo State Chapter, Funmilayo Ikueduranni, and the State Secretary, Sunday Olusegun Omosule.
