The Principal of Ogbe High School, ,Oda, in Akure  Mrs O.F Fagbenro, has called for the assistance of the Old Students in the area of infrastructural development that would enhance the progress of the teaching and learning in the school. She made this call while briefing a team of the External Evaluators that came for On- the -Spot monitoring and assessment of the schools activities to know how well the school is doing in terms of teaching and learning.

After the rooting evaluation , monitoring of the academic activities of the school and the thorough examination of the infrastructural development in the environment, it was discovered that their only School Hall needed some renovation. The floor needed repairs while the doors and windows also needed to be fixed. The Chairman of the Parent Teacher Association -P.T.A, of the school also begged the state government to always remember their school for more development.

In another development, the principal said a member of the School Based Management Committee -SBMC, Engr. Temikotan kehinde, from Elizade University, Ilara Mokin, always comes to teach the Learners Physics in the school.
She also said parents were not buying the recommended textbooks for their wards due to the economic Hardship as well as the cost of printing and this, according to her doesn’t allow independent learning. She advised the learners to always be serious with their academics, as it is the only way they could become somebody in life, as education is the only key that unlocks the doors of opportunities in life .

Similarly, the Management of the school are still appealing to the government to help them build a separate Science Laboratory for all the Science Subjects and equip them with modern science equipments for optima use of the learners. According to her, the current school science laboratory is a multi-purpose one which doesn’t give room to proper science practicals in other Science Subjects.

The school which is located in a strategic location within the town of Oda Community, has about seven hundred and twenty two learners which comprises of three hundred and fifty four (354) Boys and three hundred and sixty eight (368) Girls, with a staff straight of fifty one. The school, according to the Authorities is in need of a male counselor to be gender sensitive in order to complement the efforts of the Female Counselor in the School, for the purpose of catering for the psychological and emotional needs of the learners.

The management also appeal to the government and other stakeholders to assist in ensuring that the School’s perimeter fencing is completed to avoid encroachment.
