*APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS TO THE JOINT SENATE/HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON PETROLEUM INDUSTRY INVESTIGATION*

*Abuja, Nigeria | Friday, August 9, 2024* – The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, PhD., has appointed the following Honourable Members to the Joint Senate/House Committee tasked with investigating alleged economic sabotage within the petroleum industry:

1. *Hon. Prof. Julius Ihonvbere* – Co-Chairman/House Leader
2. *Hon. Iduma Ighariwey* – Member
3. *Hon. Gboyega N. Isiaka* – Member
4. *Hon. Sada Soli* – Member
5. *Hon. Fatima Talba* – Member
6. *Hon. Tunji Raheem* – Member
7. *Hon. Patrick Umoh, PhD* – Member

The urgency and importance of this matter have necessitated close collaboration between the Senate and the House of Representatives. This new structure aims to ensure synergy, a holistic approach to addressing the issues, and ease of administrative coordination, resulting in a harmonized and efficient investigation.

The Committee is expected to commence its duties immediately, with a clear mandate to ensure accountability and transparency in the sector.
