Ondo State Chapter of the Southwest People’s Democratic party Youth Alliance payed host to the party’s youth from all the six South-West States in Akure, Ondo State Capital on Monday.

In his welcome address, the host, Hon Folorunsho Makinde, Ondo State PDP Youth Leader commended the youths for their resilient and support for the party while PDP remains in the opposition.

He said 2023 Rescue Nigeria Project requires collective efforts of every youth and rigorous campaign across every nook and cranny of the six South West states.

“We have the population to send the ruling APC out of government in 2023; in Ondo State, Atiku did not only won in the state but with over 34,000 votes. We can do it again and even more if we all join hands together and see Atiku presidency as our collective projects”, he noted.

He enjoined the youth to work as a team and campaign rigorously, saying 2023 is not about tribal or religious sentiment but voting for a leader that can unify and lead the country out of the woods of insecurity, economy meltdown, and infrastructure decadence.

“We are going to work assiduously in making sure Alhaji Atiku Abubakar emerges Nigeria president in 2023 and also ensure all our candidates win the forthcoming general elections.

Speaking, the former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Prof Olusola Eleka said 2023 is the best time to rescue Nigeria from the failed APC led government, saying Atiku Abubakar is the man to do the job.

He said the Youth should rise up and take their future in their hands, adding that Nigerians youth have the population to make the real change in Nigeria economy, security, education and health sector.

The Ex Deputy Governor noted that one of the serious challenges facing the country is the failed education system where ASUU and Federal Government were playing kite with the future of Nigerian youths.

While challenging the academic credentials, health status and state of origin of the ruling APC Presidential Candidate, Bola Tinubu, Eleka said Nigerians can’t entrusted the leadership of the country in the hands of character with fictitious profiles that will further draw Nigeria backward.

He asked South West youth to support Atiku Abubakar candidacy saying the solution to Nigeria problems lies with the former Vice President that is more experienced and understand governance at the federal level.

In the same vein, the State Chairman of the People’s Democratic party in Ondo State, Alhaji Fatai Adams beamoned the hardship APC led government has bequeathed on Nigeria in the last seven years of visionless administration.

He charged PDP supporters and concerned Nigeria to use their PVC to kick APC out of government, saying the only man that can restore the lost glory of Nigeria in all sectors is Atiku Abubakar.

Speaking, the guest speaker, Akogun Adetokunbo Modupe, Ondo North Senatorial Candidate of PDP asked Nigerians to always consider capacity while choosing their leaders.

Frowning at the not too impressive turn out, he said the youth can only takes leadership position if they can shun their lackadaisical attitudes towards issues affecting governance of the country both at the state and federal levels

TPT as fondly called lamented poor leadership of the ruling APC under President Muhammadu Buhari saying it is shameful for such party to still sponsor candidate for Presidency in 2023.

His words:” The presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has capacity to lead Nigeria than any candidate in the race. APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu was part of the cabal that Installed President Buhari on Nigeria in 2015″, he stated.

The Senatorial Hopeful further confirmed that the track records of Atiku while serving as Vice President of Nigeria for eight years were enough reasons for Nigerians vote for him ahead of others.

He charged the youth to brace up and vote for leader that has the capacity to lead the nation out of the current predicament, adding that the country can’t continue with the failed system imposed on the country by APC.

While asking the youth to be at the forefront in the forthcoming campaign, he said they must restrategise to win every polling unit not for Atiku/Okowa alone but for all the party’s candidates.

In separate goodwill messages, the Youth Leaders from Osun, Ekiti,Ogun,Oyo and Lagos states challenged Nigerians youth to see 2023 general elections as the time to right the wrong of the present failed government in Nigeria by voting for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

The vocal Akure Youth leader, Hon Adekambi tasked the leaders of the party to mobilise the youth financially and provide necessary logistics ahead of the 2023 election, saying Nigerians youth are ready to take their rightful position in governance.

Some of the dignitaries in attendance are, Prof Olusola Eleka, Akogun Adetokunbo Modupe, Alhaji Fatai Adams and Party’s State Executives, Youth leaders from Osun, Ogun, Oyo, Lagos and Ekiti States among others.
