Ondo Strengthens Global Economic Profile as Aiyedatiwa Showcases State’s Investment Readiness

Date:5th December, 2025

Ondo State is accelerating its rise on the global investment map as Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa reaffirmed the state’s readiness for large-scale economic expansion and international competitiveness.

Speaking at the Johnvents Group 2025 End-of-Year Celebration held at The Dome, Akure, on Thursday, December 4, 2025, the Governor noted that the rapid ascent of the indigenous conglomerate—now active across three continents—reflects a business climate capable of sustaining world-class ventures.

Governor Aiyedatiwa highlighted Johnvents’ network of over ten factories, its 1,500-member workforce, thousands of supported households, more than 5,000 engaged farmers and empowerment of over 10,000 youths as proof that Ondo’s economic reforms have translated into measurable impact.

He attributed the state’s investment readiness to deliberate policy actions, including strengthened security, expanding road infrastructure linking production clusters to markets, power projects around industrial hubs, digitised government processes and an integrated one-stop investment system operated through ONDIPA.

According to him, these initiatives have repositioned Ondo as a destination where investors can operate with certainty and speed.

Emphasising agriculture as Ondo’s strongest comparative advantage, he pointed to transformative strides across the cocoa, cassava, cashew, oil palm, timber and aquaculture value chains—sectors he said offer global players ample room to scale.

With representatives of British International Investment, International Finance Corporation, African Finance Corporation, United Capital and Commercio Partners in attendance, the Governor affirmed that the state is strengthening its ties with international investment networks.

He stressed that modern prosperity is driven by collaboration and shared ambition, assuring that Ondo would continue to maintain an environment where businesses can expand into global markets.

“This is a story that assures every investor here and every partner across the world that Ondo State is ready for investment, ready for expansion, ready for innovation and ready for global competitiveness,” he declared.

Aiyedatiwa applauded Johnvents for symbolising the state’s industrial resurgence and expressed confidence that more international investors would harness emerging opportunities in Ondo.

Earlier, Group Executive Director (Real Sector), Mr. Tarun Chawla, pledged the company’s commitment to projecting the state positively while productively engaging its people. He also commended the Governor for fostering an enabling business environment.
