At 70, OSOPADEC Projects Director Dr. Olujimi Kufo Attributes Longevity, Service to Divine Grace

The Executive Director of Projects at the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC), High Chief Dr. Olujimi Kufo, ESQ, on Sunday attributed his longevity, resilience and sustained relevance in public service to divine grace as he marked his 70th birthday with a thanksgiving service at the Government House Chapel, Alagbaka, Akure.
The solemn yet colourful service, held on January 25, 2026, brought together family members, friends, associates and well-wishers to celebrate what many described as a life devoted to discipline, mentorship and the development of Ondo State.
Speaking during the thanksgiving, Dr. Kufo expressed deep gratitude to God for the gift of life, describing his attainment of the milestone age as an act of grace.
“God has given me the grace to be alive,” he said. “I pray that He will continue to grant me the strength and wisdom to keep contributing meaningfully to the development of the state and society at large.”
The OSOPADEC Projects Director also paid tribute to his mentor, Compo Abai, whom he credited as a major influence on his personal values and professional career.
“I took over his system, and it has helped me immensely,” Dr. Kufo recalled. “What he taught me at the Police College is what has sustained me and kept me at the level I am today.”
The thanksgiving service featured prayers, hymns and exhortations, reflecting on a legacy built on quiet strength, enduring principles and commitment to public service.
Several admirers at the event described Dr. Kufo’s journey as evidence that, even at 70, his impact-driven service to society remains far from over.
