Ondo@50: Aiyedatiwa Assures Investors of Stable Economic Development

By Olusegun Hosea, 29th January, 2026

The Executive Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has assured investors of a stable and hospitable environment for the economic development of their investments. He disclosed this today at a world press conference held at the Governor’s Banquet Hall as part of activities marking the 50th anniversary of the state. The Governor stated that the security of lives and property remains a top priority of his administration.
According to him, the anniversary celebration will feature a series of activities designed to ensure that individuals who have contributed to the development of the state are not left out, as their efforts will be duly honoured. The event, which featured a question-and-answer session on the progress made by the state since its creation on February 3, 1976, provided an opportunity for the Governor to explain that the founding fathers and past Governors, both Military Administrators and civilian Governors, had all contributed their quota to the development of the state. He noted that development from inception to the present administration has not been stagnant, as most critical sectors of the state have witnessed one form of development or another.
He further emphasized the commitment of the government to securing lives, farmlands and investments, ensuring that Ondo State remains a stable and hospitable environment for economic and social activities. As the state commemorates 50 years of existence, the Governor said its focus is firmly fixed on the future, noting that the next half-century will be defined by knowledge-driven growth, industrial competitiveness, environmental sustainability, digital innovation and strong democratic institutions.
According to him, the present administration is laying the groundwork for a state that will not merely respond to change, but will evolve into one where opportunity is inclusive and prosperity is sustainable. Addressing members of the press, the Governor described the Golden Jubilee of Ondo State as a collective heritage and a shared responsibility that belongs to every citizen, young and old, both at home and in the diaspora.
He therefore called on all stakeholders to join hands with the government in making the anniversary a celebration of meaning, memory and momentum. As the state honours the sacrifices of yesterday, celebrates the achievements of today and envisions the possibilities of tomorrow, the Governor urged citizens to reaffirm their faith in the Ondo project, assuring that together, a state that guarantees fulfilment for all will continue to be built.
